The Enforcement Acts of 1870 and 1871

The figure shows the following timeline of the Enforcement Acts of 18 70 and 18 71. In May 18 70, Congress prohibits the formation of groups that use secret memberships and disguises in public to limit the constitutional rights of others. In February 18 71, the federal government is given the power to control national elections and supervise local polling locations.
